Owners of Arthur Murray Dayton
Tim and Barbara Haller owned and operated the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Dayton, Ohio from 1984 through 2004. After a few years of residency in Connecticut, the Hallers returned to the Midwest and resumed ownership of the Dayton Studio in 2008.
They are not only the Franchisees for the Dayton market, but also the Master Franchisees for the Greater Cincinnati-Dayton metroplex.
Tim and Barbara are four-time United States Professional Ballroom Theatrical Arts Champions, with an impressive competitive and performance career. (See About the Owners). Despite their many awards, Barbara Haller states her greatest pleasure is in seeing how the dance experience at Arthur Murray's alters people's lives in such a positive way.
While the Arthur Murray Dance Studios have been operating for 100 years, Tim and Barbara Haller are pleased to note that the Dayton Franchise has been operating continuously since 1946.
Aaron Berenson
Instructor
Aaron started learning to dance at 3. His parents put him in Ballet class and he never looked back! After his professional performing career with Dayton Ballet, he made the switch to ballroom starting with Arthur Murray Dayton Studio.
Aaron spent a few years in Florida practicing and competing with the Orlando Arthur Murray Studio, but quickly embraced the opportunity to return to Dayton where his family resides. He loves teaching and truly appreciates the process of helping others learn to dance.
Amanda Horn
Instructor
Amanda was born and raised in Eaton, Ohio. As a child she took classes in tap, ballet, and jazz. As an adult she took salsa lessons and always love to go out dancing, but never thought about pursuing it as a career. She was working in the food industry when she met Barbara Haller and Quinton Mac Adam. Barbara offered her a job on the spot!
Amanda's favorite part of her career is hearing people say how dancing has changed their lives, as it has changed hers!
Tyler Boyd
Instructor
Tyler Boyd is a native of Troy, Ohio, where he excelled in high school as both an athlete and a hip hop dancer.
He joined the Dayton Arthur Murray staff in 2007 and quickly was a sought after instructor for new and advanced students alike, due to his engaging personality and certified dance training.
Tyler's family rallied around his decision to become a professional ballroom dancer after seeing him perform on stage. It truly can be said of Tyler he does not know a stranger!
Lynn Krodel
Instructor
Lynn is a native Daytonian and enjoyed dancing and competing in both ballet and tap during her formative years. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to reintegrate her dance skills within the Arthur Murray family.
While Lynn works with new students who have chosen to "stop watching and start dancing" she also brings terrific organizational skills to the faculty with a great background in business management. She enthusiastically helps students discover the many benefits of good dancing and simultaneously helps keep our instructors focused on the tasks at hand!
Isaac Karkoski
Instructor
Isaac Karkoski hails from Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he began his classical ballet studies as a student of the Milwaukee Ballet School. After his training he was promoted to the main company and performed with them extensively.
His dance dreams led him to a career with the Dayton Ballet, where he was a featured performer for a number of years.
After a hiatus and upon the recommendation of a former ballet alumni turned ballroom professional, Isaac rekindled his passion for dance at Arthur Murray's in Dayton. He is a sought after instructor and loves sharing his passion for the art of ballroom dancing with the entire Arthur Murray family.
Lee Burchett
Instructor
Lee Burchett grew up in Miamisburg, Ohio. He has been with the studio for over a decade and is a most accomplished instructor.
Prior to becoming a ballroom dance teacher, Lee studied music, musical theater and ballet extensively, making him a great fit for Arthur Murray's.
Lee has been a successful competitive dancer on the circuit in both American Smooth and International Standard. His greatest joy, though, is being able to pass his love of dance on to others.
Tsali Helton
Instructor
Tsali first started dancing in college and fell in love with it rapidly. He experimented with other forms of dance, but enjoyed ballroom dancing the most. He was instrumental in forming Kent State University's first social dance club. The college has now expanded this club to a competitive team.
After college, Tsali joined the Arthur Murray family as a dance instructor. He subsequently transferred to Dayton Arthur Murray Dance Center and is happy to be a part of the Cincinnati-Dayton Arthur Murray organization. His mission is to spread the joy and life altering benefits of dance instruction to everyone.
Scott Geise
Instructor
Scott was born and raised in Indiana. As a youth, he developed a strong passion for music. He taught himself the drums and played in a variety of groups.
Taking that passion, coupled with fine-dining service skills, Scott made the exciting change to become an instructor with Arthur Murray Dayton Dance Center.
He is already a commended certified instructor and sought after both in the studio and at outside functions.
