May Highlights

• What an action packed month !!!

• May second found over eighty people in attendance at the West Chester Grand Opening!! The new school is quite lovely and the owners, Brandon and Kristen Perpich, are the best! In addition to hosting this event they also performed for us! There were clients in attendance from Dayton and Montgomery, plus a large contingent from the Pittsburg Arthur Murray's. Brandon and Kristen hail from Pittsburg originally and their former clients attended to wish them well in their new endeavors!!

On May ninth we attended the annual Dancetonians Dance Fair. We had a full four tables of clients and faculty there and according to all, this was an uplifting affirmation of the Arthur Murray system. The amateurs who danced were technically very sound, beautifully costumed and groomed, plus told great stories through their routines. The professionals who danced were unparalleled! Jeremy and Leslie's tango, Jeremy and Desiree's peabody and Brandon and Kristen's waltz stole the show. Those performances were followed by an awesome seven couple professional formation to Up Town Funk, choreographed by Des and Jeremy and danced by pros from all three of our area Arthur Murray Dance Centers. This is, of course, the beauty of belonging to the world's largest and best dance organization. We are a large extended family and work as well as play together!!

• Our Amazing Race themed International Dance Festival is going swimmingly. After the first few weeks, Dayton is in first place as a studio, as well as boasting the top teacher, Tyler, and the top executive. Go Dayton!!

• The last day of May we set sail on a private yacht to celebrate our success in the contest! We boarded Destiny Yacht Charters and cruised the Ohio while the Reds won a game nearby! We stopped at the Beer Sellar for additional libations and then reboarded the yacht for a first class banquet. The new port that this yacht is using is very friendly and easy for all to navigate, including the limos and party buses the four schools in attendance used to travel in style! Look for a photo page on our website and postings on face book coming soon. Also look on face book to see a great spot on Living Dayton by Stef, Aaron and Lynn, which occurred two days before our cruise.:))). More on that in June's events!

June Upcoming Events

• Our Amazing Race theme parties wind up in June. June fifth is a Hawaiian Luau and guest party combined. The Following Friday we host our Victory Party, which is a Venetian themed "No Stripes, No Party" party. Wear stripes a la a gondolier!! We did this theme in Venice, Italy last year and it is a blast!

• On June twelfth Stef, Brandon and Kristen will be appearing once again on Living Dayton in conjunction with the Greater Dayton Humane society, promoting our upcoming show, Broadway or Bust! (This is what Stef, Aaron and Lynn were featured doing on Friday the 29th!) The proceeds from this performance benefit the local Humane society, who do such good work on behalf of the animals!!

• Saturday, June thirteenth we will be attending the most elegant Art Ball at the Dayton Art Institute. This event, as well as the DPAA Gala in October are arguably the highlights of the social calendar year! We have a full contingent of dancers attending the Art Ball and we are certain to be the best on the floor after dinner!!

• Our annual stage show, entitled Broadway or Bust! will be held on Saturday, June 20th at Finkelman Auditorium, Middletown, Miami University Campus. Doors open at 7:00 and the curtain is at 7:30. As previously mentioned, the proceeds from this show go to the Greater Dayton Humane Society, which is committed to helping abandoned, lost and homeless animals and to provide families with the resources to become loving pet owners.

There is no question this show will be the best in over a decade, with five awesome professional routines, five incredible vocal performances, a piano solo and, of course, our talented clients in a variety of performances ranging from comedy to drama. There truly is something for everyone in this Broadway themed show! Tickets are fifteen dollars in advance and twenty dollars at the door. The Executive Director of the Humane Society will be addressing the audience in advance of the show. Also, from the hours of five to seven on the 20th, there will be an adoption event in the lobby of Finkelman Auditorium. Call the studio at 937-291-2000 for tickets, assigned seating, or to donate to the Humane Society if you are unable to attend.

• Save the dates- North Star Ball in Chicago, August 20th to 23rd and our NYC excursion, November 12th-15th!!
